Vladimir Gašparić-Gapa
Born 25 August 1951 at Hodošan near Čakovec (Croatia). Completed elementary and secondary education at Varaždin. Studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (1970-1975) and graduated in the class of Professor V. Michieli. Worked in the Master Workshop of Professor Sabolic. Study trips to Italy (1975), Sweden (1975), Austria (1985), Federal Republic of Germany (1985). During his stay in Italy (Rome), he met the Italian sculptor Giacomme Manzu. The works of Vladimir Gasparic - Gapa can be found in Galerija starih i novih majstora in Varazdin, in museums of Ptuj and St. Wendel, in private collections in Croatia and abroad as well as in public places in Zagreb, Varazdin, Cakovec, Licki Osik, Labin, Rovinj, Dreich, Nantes, Sibhultt, Nanto-Pietra, St. Wendel. A monograph on the works of Vladimir Gasparic - Gapa was written by Ivo Simat - Banov, published by Graficki zavod Hrvatske, "Prizma" edition. He has received several prizes and awards as well.
